The Junior Youth Orchestra
John B. Lee, Conductor

The Junior Youth Orchestra (JYO) is the preparatory orchestra for the Youth Orchestra. JYO provides many students with their first experience in a full orchestra setting. They perform three formal concerts annually, along with a number of community performances such as the concert at Cook Children's Hospital. JYO has performed many specialty concerts, including a collaborative concert with composer Michael Mauldin and a concerto concert featuring selected members of the orchestra. In the past, JYO has traveled to San Antonio, Houston, Tyler, and Oklahoma City. 2002-2003 repertoire included Copland's "Hoedown" from Rodeo and Lecuona's Andalucia Suite.
